Sales Representative Resume Writing Service.
A resume written for you by a real human being, one who knows a sales resume is a P&L trigger, and that a sales manager reads it looking for exactly one thing first: results.
There’s only one question.
Every hiring sales manager reads your resume with a single opening question: did this person hit their number? Everything else (the territory, the product, the methodology, the personality) is context for that question. A sales resume without attainment figures doesn’t read as modest, it’s just a fail.
This is the one field where the resume convention is completely settled and still routinely ignored. “Consistently exceeded expectations” appears on thousands of sales resumes; “112% of quota FY24, 104% FY23, #3 of 27 reps” appears on the resumes that get calls. That second version is checkable, it’s comparable, and it’s shaped like the spreadsheet the sales manager is already thinking in.
How to write a sales representative resume.
Lead with attainment, per year, with rank when you have it. Percent to quota is the universal currency; stack it with deal size, cycle length, and territory or book size so the reader can see what kind of selling it was. “$1.2M book, 45-day cycle, $18K average deal, 118% attainment” tells a manager in one line whether you fit their motion.
Match the direction you think they’re hiring toward. If the posting is new-logo acquisition, your prospecting numbers lead: pipeline generated, meetings set, win rate. If it’s account management, retention and expansion lead: net revenue retention, upsell dollars, renewal rate. Same career, two different resumes, and sending the wrong one is the most common self-inflicted rejection in sales.
Tell the truth about the down year, but… with trajectory. Tell a recovery story if you can. Managers know quotas get missed; every one of them has missed one. A resume that shows 85% in a brutal year bracketed by strong ones, or a ramp year climbing quarter over quarter, reads honest and resilient. A resume with a suspicious gap where a year should be reads like exactly what it is, which would be a dodge. W2s and offer conversations have a way of surfacing the truth, so put numbers on the page you can stand on.
Round it out with the machinery: CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot), the methodologies you’ve actually run (MEDDIC, Challenger, Sandler, named rather than preached), President’s Club and rankings, and any vertical expertise. One page for most careers; sales managers are the fastest resume readers alive.
The instant credibility killers.
- Adjectives where numbers go: “proven track record of success” is the emptiest phrase in the genre.
- Activity masquerading as results: calls made and demos run matter only en route to closed-won.
- The methodology sermon: naming your Challenger devotion for a paragraph while attainment hides below sucks.
- And the unexplained gap year in an otherwise numbered history, which every sales manager reads fluently, sucks worse.

Asked, answered.
What should a sales representative resume include?
Attainment by year with rank, deal size, cycle, and book/territory scale. The motion (hunter/farmer/full-cycle) made obvious. CRM and methodologies. Awards and Club years. One page if possible.
I don’t have exact quota numbers from an old job. What now?
State what you can defend: approximate attainment (“~110%”), rank (“top 5 of ~30”), award years. Defensible approximations are standard; precision you can’t back up in an offer conversation is a landmine.
Sales jobs churn, and I have short stints. How do I handle it?
Show the numbers at each stop and let the summary carry the arc. A rep with three two-year stints, each above quota, is a strong resume. What hurts isn’t the movement itself, it’s movement without any attainment attached to it.
