Recruiters filter on these terms constantly. An accountant with the right systems buried in a paragraph loses to a weaker accountant who listed them cleanly.
Handle the CPA with intention. Licensed? It goes next to your name, top of the page, not hidden in education. Sitting for it? “CPA candidate; 2 of 4 sections passed” is a legitimate line that answers the question before it’s asked. Not pursuing it? Say nothing and let your numbers argue for you.
If you’re crossing between public and industry, translate. “Senior Associate” at a firm means little to a corporate controller until you convert it: the client count, the industries, the size of the engagements.
